Alberta Parks Public Consultation and Communications Coordinator

[via GoodWorkCanada.ca] Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Parks Council is a community-based non-profit organization that shares responsibilities with Alberta Parks for the new provincial park and recreation area in Brazeau County southwest of Edmonton.

They seek an experienced and highly motivated communications and consultation professional to work with them on a major two-year project with confirmed funding. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of the public consultation and communications components of developing the EP-BR Parks Management Plan and other aspects of the project, will be responsible for the Council's website, and will have:

  • Demonstrated success in providing communications and/or consultation services, including hands-on media and communications work.
  • A thorough understanding of public consultation processes, and success in facilitating public involvement in public policy, land-use planning, park management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in preparing public communications materials for a wide variety of print and electronic media, including day-to-day website management.
  • High level of comfort working with non-profit organizations.
